Phangan Arena Hostel is Thailand's most famous party hostel, on Koh Phangan just 250 m from Baan Tai Beach. With over 250 beds across dorms and private rooms, it's the meeting point for travellers from around the world.
The facilities are unique: large outdoor pool, 7-a-side Astro Turf football pitch, tennis court, basketball hoop, outdoor gym, pool tables, ping pong, table football, big screen, PlayStation 4 and Netflix. The bar and restaurant are open 24 hours, and the food is commonly described as the best of any hostel. Multilingual staff speak English, French, Spanish, Thai, Dutch and Burmese.

The Full Moon Party at Hat Rin is the world's largest beach party — every month, when the full moon lights up the Gulf of Thailand, tens of thousands gather on the beach to dance until dawn. The Arena organises wild pre-parties before each main event.
Beyond the Full Moon, there's the Half Moon Party, the Black Moon Party, the Jungle Experience and the Waterfall Party — all just 5 minutes by taxi from the hostel. The Arena is the perfect starting point for all of them, with organised transport and groups of fellow travellers.

The nearest airport is Koh Samui (USM), 46 km away, with flights from Bangkok and some Asian cities. From Samui there are regular ferries to Koh Phangan in about 30–45 minutes. You can also arrive from Surat Thani on the mainland by ferry. The most common connection from Europe is flying to Bangkok, then a domestic flight to Samui or Surat Thani.
Once at Thong Sala pier (1.3 km from the hostel), a songthaew or taxi will take you to the Arena in minutes. The hostel has free parking for those arriving by rented motorbike — the most practical way to get around the island.
