Çanakkale is one of the most historically significant cities in the world, on the strategic Dardanelles Strait where Europe and Asia are separated by just 1.2 km of water. It's the gateway to the mythical ruins of Troy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous archaeological sites in history, with the celebrated Wooden Horse at the entrance.
30 km away, on the European shore of the Strait, lies the Gallipoli Peninsula — the scene of the devastating 1915 campaign of the First World War, today one of the most visited historical tourism destinations in the world. Its memorials, cemeteries and museums move visitors from all nations, especially Australians, New Zealanders and Turks.
All rooms include free WiFi, blackout curtains, laptop workspace, slippers and turndown service. Free buffet breakfast from 07:00 to 10:30. Check-in from 12:30, check-out until 11:30. Cash accepted. Pets welcome. Deposit of 10 TRY by bank transfer within 24 hours.
Çanakkale Archaeological Museum, 700 m from the property, holds unique pieces from Troy and other ancient civilisations of the region. The Kordon — the seafront promenade facing the Strait — is the city's social heart, with fish restaurants, cafés and views to the European coast. The Clock Tower, symbol of Çanakkale, is 2.6 km away.
The most popular excursion is the visit to the ruins of Troy (Truva), 30 km away — the setting of the Trojan War narrated by Homer in the Iliad, with nine superimposed city layers and the famous Wooden Horse at the entrance. And crossing the Strait by ferry (20 min), the Gallipoli Peninsula with its Great War memorials awaits.

Çanakkale has no airport of its own. The most common option from Europe is flying to Istanbul (IST or SAW) and then taking a long-distance bus with companies like Metro Turizm or Kamil Koç — about 5-6 hours. Alternatively, you can arrive by ferry from Eceabat or Kilitbahir (Gallipoli), crossing the Strait in 20 minutes. The property has free parking for those arriving by car.
Once in Çanakkale, local buses and taxis are cheap and plentiful. For Troy, there are frequent dolmuş (shared minibuses) from the Çanakkale bus station, about 30 minutes away.
